Armed police swoop in Dudley after 'man spotted with gun'

Armed police rushed to a street in Dudley after a man was reportedly spotted with a gun last night.

Officers were called to Flood Street where a man was said to have been chasing another man with a shotgun.

The street was combed by West Midlands Police last night where they checked CCTV and spoke to witnesses before saying that 'no such weapon' had been seen.

An appeal has now been launched following the incident with anyone with information asked to call 101 quoting log number 2401 02/5.

A police spokesman said: "Armed police were called to Flood Street in Dudley last night to reports that a man was chasing another man with a gun.

"Upon arrival, officers searched the area, checked CCTV and spoke to witnesses. It was revealed that no such weapon was seen by anyone.

"Enquiries are on-going."
