Burglars assault terrified family in their Wolverhampton home

A masked gang held a terrified family hostage as they searched their Wolverhampton home before making off with a car and jewellery.

Four men burst through the back door of the house in Penn, while a couple and their adult daughter were watching television.

The family were threatened and assaulted by the gang whose identities were hidden behind masks.

The intruders escaped from the property in Warstones Road with a quantity of jewellery and the younger woman’s car – a black Audi A1 with the registration number BK18JXZ.

Police have described the raid as a 'violent aggravated burglary'.

They say none of the family was seriously injured but all were shocked by their ordeal which happened between 9.45pm and 10.30pm on Thursday.

The robbers are believed to be a white man, two black men and an Asian man, all wearing dark clothing and masks.

Officers are urging anyone who might have seen the vehicle, or has any further information about the robbery, to call them on 101 and quote 20WV/81316U/18.
