The 26-year-old man was stabbed in the neck during a Saturday night fight outside The Pheasant Sports Bar and Grill in Smethwick last month, in an attack police are treating as attempted murder.

And detectives have now released images of people they would like to speak to in relation to the stabbing, which happened in Abbey Road at 1.45am on March 23.

A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with a serious stab wound to his neck and has since been discharged from hospital but his injuries are considered life changing, according to West Midlands Police.

A 20-year-old man is on police bail having been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Constable Dan David is leading the investigation.

He said: “There were a lot of people outside the pub at the time and I urgently need to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

"The CCTV shows a number of people that were in the pub before the fight broke out outside that I am keen to speak to.

“The victim has suffered a really nasty injury which could have easily killed him. He will never fully recover from his injuries."

Anyone with information on the people in the pictures or who has any information in relation to the attack is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime number 20SW/65696F/18.
