Police probe after reports of gun shots in cul-de-sac

Police are investigating after reports of a gun being fired from a car in a cul-de-sac.

Officers were called to the scene in Rowley Close, Hendesford, at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.

When police arrived both vehicles thought to be involved had left the scene.

An investigation is continuing.

Chief Inspector Sarah Wainwright, of Staffordshire Police, said: "This is a very rare incident and we will have increased patrols and a visible presence in the area to reassure the local community."
