Man arrested after 'arson threats' made in street

A man has been arrested on suspicion of threatening to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

Staffordshire Police officers arrested the 54-year-old after an incident in Blewitt Street, in Hednesford, Cannock.

It happened at about 12.15pm today and a police cordon was seen closing off the road.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

The man remains in police custody at this time, and an investigation is on-going.
