Hundreds of cannabis plants were found at a unit in Dudley Port

Officers Police raided a factory unit in Dudley Port after executing a warrant yesterday and pictures from the scene showed hundreds of plants lined up in rows.

Specialist lighting equipment was being used as part of the growing operation at the Fisher Street site and cannabis buds were pictured hanging from the ceiling.

Police estimated the drugs had a value of around £700,000

Police said they 'rescued' two men from the unit who were suspected to be victims of forced labour.

West Midlands Police's Cannabis Disposal Team posted these videos from inside the factory:

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Officers executed a warrant at a unit in Fisher Street at 10am and seized around 400 cannabis plants at various stages of maturity.

"The plants have a potential street-value yield of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

"Two Albanian men aged 22 and 23 were found in the unit and are now being safeguarded – it’s suspected they may be modern slavery victims and enquiries are underway."
