Alert after 'pupils approached outside Wolverley CofE Secondary School'

Officers responded to an incident where a man was speaking with a pupil outside the Wolverley CofE secondary school on Blakeshall Lane in Wolverley.

The school said 'several' students were approached by an unidentified male.

Reassurance patrols were later carried out in the area by officers from a Safer Neighbourhood Team.

A West Mercia Spokesperson said: "Police were called to a school on Blakeshall Lane in Wolverley at around 8.40am on Thursday after a man is reported to have spoken with a pupil outside the school before leaving the area.

"Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team attended and carried out reassurance patrols in the area."

A school spokesman said: "This morning, several of our students were approached by an unidentifiable male in Wolverley village. The incident was reported to the police.

"Please remind your son/daughter not to engage in conversation if approached by a stranger and to ensure that any incidents are reported immediately."
