The incident took place at about 8.25pm on Thursday, on the A38 heading from Lydiate Ash to Bromsgrove.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was making a delivery when two men were reported to have forcefully removed him from the vehicle.

The men then took the victim's phone and drove off in the grey VW Passat Estate.

The victim attempted to stop the vehicle and suspects but was unsuccessful, police added. He was seen by the ambulance service and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Detective Inspector Gerry Smith, of West Mercia Police, said: “We are taking this incident very seriously as the car was taken by force from the victim.

“As a result of the vehicle being taken, the car boot had been opened and due to this the vehicle would’ve been distinctive to anyone who may have seen it being driven.

“The vehicle was driven along the A38 Birmingham Road towards junction one of the M42. If you saw this vehicle or anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, I would urge you to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”

Officers are also keen for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 645s of January 11.
