Cannabis plants stolen by burglars resulting in eight-mile police pursuit involving police chopper

A man has been arrested after cannabis plants were stolen by burglars leading to an eight-mile police pursuit through the Black Country.

West Midlands Police were alerted to cannabis plants being loaded into a white van in Norman Street, Dudley, at around 4am on Tuesday morning.

When they arrived three men were driving off in a white van.

There then followed a pursuit by officers on the ground supported by a police helicopter.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police, said: "The pursuit ended in Harrow Street, Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton, where a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"The other two ran away through some back gardens of local homes."

Later around 180 plants were seized from the address in Norman Street.

The 25-year-old man was later released under investigation and police enquiries are on-going. Anyone with information can call 101.
