Cain Highfield, aged two, who has cerebral palsy, had his electric BMW i8 sit-in car stolen from his grandmother's house on Saturday, September 16.

The house, in the Northwood Park area of Bushbury, Wolverhampton, was trashed by the thieves who also took Cain's baby DVDs and other items belonging to his grandmother Angela Flavell.

The burglary was the latest blow to the family who are currently trying to fundraise a staggering £35,000 to pay for an operation so that little Cain can walk. Not only this, but his grandmother was recently made redundant from her job as a florist.

Now the West Midlands Media Company, based at The Boot Factory, Cleveland Road, Wolverhampton, has donated a replacement car at a cost of £200 to the youngster after hearing his story.

Duncan Price, owner and director of the company said: "When I heard of Cain and his family's story, it was absolutely heartbreaking.

"I grew up in a close-knit community like that and I know the impact of these types of thefts on people who are really struggling.

"I knew we had to do something, so that's why we went out and purchased the car. We hope Cain enjoys it and that it goes some way to comforting the family."

Cain's mother, Zoe Highfield, aged 24, who is a single mother, said: "When I found out about what the company wanted to do, I couldn't believe it.

"I was totally amazed and grateful to them for doing something so special for Cain.

"It really goes to show that there some good people out there."

Grandmother Angela Flavell said: "They are such lovely people, so kind and welcoming. Thank you so much."
