The incident at Kingston Court shopping arcade in Cannock was captured on CCTV and now well-known town businessman Fred Pritchard, who owns the property, has put up a £250 reward for information that brings the culprit to justice.

The footage shows two men entering the centre on Walsall Road in the early hours of the morning around 12.37am on Saturday, June 24.

One is an Asian man with a beard wearing dark shoes, light grey trousers and grey top who appears to stay around the entrance of the building but is not shown committing any offences.

The second person is a white man wearing black shoes, blue jeans, a dark long sleeve top and a grey baseball cap.

Around seven minutes after entering the foyer he proceeds to stroll down the corridor slapping over three ornamental plants before picking one of them up and launching it at a £300 mirror smashing it in the process.

Mr Pritchard was left incensed at the attack after recently spending £40,000 sprucing up Kingston Court installing new floors, new signage as well as the mirrors.

The 75-year-old, who still works full-time overseeing his large property portfolio in the town, said: "We caught it all on CCTV and I am prepared to offer a reward subject to a conviction of this mindless individual who smashed up the premises which we have tried to present to the public nicely.

"It has cost about £300 worth of damage breaking the mirror. We put them up to give nice reflections and give it a roomier feel.

"To put it bluntly it 'so and so's' you off when you try and make a place better for people and a mindless drunken yob smashes it up.

"We had recently done a full refurbishment of the whole arcade to make it better for the clients, the customers and the tenants."

Anyone with information on the incident should call Staffordshire Police on 101.
