Smethwick man appears in court over firearm allegations

A man who allegedly possessed a firearm with intent to endanger life has appeared before magistrates.

Unemployed Michael Young, 56, of Vicarage Road in Smethwick , was arrested as part of investigations into a firearm discharge in Barnsdale Crescent in the Northfield area of Birmingham on September 10.

He was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, following enquiries by armed officers at an address in Smethwick (TUES) on September 12.

Young was remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 12.

He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (SEPT 14).
