Police are searching for the man pictured above after the 'abhorrent attack' in Windmill Lane, Smethwick.

The elderly woman was home alone when a man she didn't know rang her doorbell.

Police say when the pensioner opened the door, the man forcibly kissed her and barged into her home. He then indecently exposed himself inside before fleeing.

DC Gina Tonks, who is leading the investigation for West Midlands Police, said: “This is an abhorrent crime suffered by an elderly lady inside her own home.

"Rest assured officers have been working round the clock, and are following numerous lines of enquiry.

“We want to apprehend the individual responsible and have now released a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the attack.”

The attack happened just after 5pm on August 21.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime number 20SW/177534W/17.

Information could lead to a reward of up to £1,000.
