The 43-year-old, who contacted the Express & Star over the attack, says she is now 'petrified' to go outside.

West Midlands Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident in Pelsall, which happened at around 11pm on August 16.

The woman was sitting on the common when she was taken to the disused line near Commonside, police said.

There the man sexually assaulted her.

Detective Sergeant Richard Bridgeman said: “ We are following multiple enquiries, including trawling through CCTV within the local area.

"I’d urge anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen the man or witnessed the incident to get in touch as soon as possible."

Anyone with information or who saw any suspicious behaviour should either contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20WS/174935B/17, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
