Police want to know who these eight men are

There was trouble in the Birmingham Road end of The Hawthorns after Chelsea scored the only goal of the game to clinch the Premier League title.

Videos shot by Albion fans showed Chelsea supporters who had been sitting in the home end fighting with regulars after openly celebrating Michy Batshuayi's goal eight minutes from time.

The game had to be stopped briefly when a couple of visiting fans in the wrong end invaded the pitch and ran towards the away fans in the Smethwick End.

Police say the presence of Chelsea supporters in the home section sparked the disorder on 12 May, and officers want to speak to these eight men.

Pc Martin Portman, from the West Midlands Police football unit, said: "We would urge these men, or anyone who knows their identity, to contact us as soon as possible.

"The majority of supporters were well-behaved on the night but the actions of a small number were completely unacceptable."

Shortly after the trouble, Albion's chief executive warned that West Brom supporters involved in the crowd trouble would be banned from the club.

And later the same month, four Chelsea fans and a Baggies supporter were handed fines totalling almost £1,000 for running on the pitch at the Hawthorns.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Portman by emailing m.portman@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk; or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
