Wombourne police officer banned form the road after being found guilty of drink driving

A police officer from Wombourne is guilty of drink driving and now faces a misconduct hearing.

Staffordshire PC Thomas Doubtfire attended Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with driving a motor vehicle over the prescribed limit and was banned from the road for 16 months and ordered to pay a fine and charges totalling £1,215.

Chief Constable Gareth Morgan, said: “I am extremely disappointed in PC Doubtfire’s conduct.

“As a police officer he understands the absolute priority we place on road safety and the example we should set for our communities.

“No-one is above the law and I therefore welcome this sentencing.”

PC Doubtfire is currently suspended from duty and misconduct proceedings will now commence.
