Four thugs pushed over a man on a scooter and then searched his pockets.

Officers in Kidderminster have appealed for witnesses to the attempted robbery at Burlish Top nature reserve in Stourport.

The incident happened between 9am and 9.30am on Thursday.

The victim, in his 40s, was travelling on his mobility scooter and walking his dogs.

Four men are reported to have approached the victim, when he felt a pain to his face and was pushed over to the ground.

One of the four men then demanded the victim's phone, while a second searched his pockets for valuables.

Nothing was taken during the incident and the victim suffered minor face and shoulder injuries as a result.

The first man is described as white, aged 18 to 19, about 6ft 2in tall and well built. He was wearing a yellow hooded jacket with the hood partially up and dark jogging bottoms with two white stripes down the side. He has a distinctive tattoo across his left temple and cheek in the style of a flame.

The second man is described as white, aged 18 or 19, 6ft to 6ft 2in tall and of skinny build.

Police said he was wearing a dark hooded top with hood fully up and a logo on it, dark-coloured jogging bottoms and is described as appearing dirty in appearance with very dirty oil-stained hands and prominent body odour.

The other two men are described as being a similar age and of average build and were also wearing dark hooded tops and jogging bottoms.

One of the two is believed to have had a short goatee-style beard and all four are described as speaking with Irish accents.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
