Officers have spoke of their shock and outrage following the theft from outside their station in Alfred Squire Road.

The team posted pictures on Twitter accompanied by the message: "Totally disgusted - some mindless thug has stolen plants from outside Police Station planted by school children for community project."

The force said the plants were planted by pupils from St Patrick's Catholic Primary School as part of the 2017 Wednesfield In Bloom campaign.

Ward councillor Phil Bateman said he too was disgusted.

He said: "That is nothing but a disgrace, and a slur on all that we have tried to achieve as the community young and old come together."

Officers are investigating the theft and said they will be reviewing CCTV footage.
