Man seriously injured in attack outside Birmingham restaurant

A man suffered a serious head injury in an assault outside a restaurant in Birmingham City Centre in the early hours of today.

Police were called to a report of a disorder outside Athens restaurant in Paradise Circus, Queensway, at 12.50am.

A 27-year-old man was found with a serious head injury and was taken to hospital where he is in a serious condition.

Detective Inspector Tom Hadley said: “Officers are currently carrying out enquiries. We believe there was a dispute outside Athens Restaurant early this morning between the injured man and three other men, resulting in the assault.

"The other men then left the scene. Anyone with information should call police on 101.”
