Officers in marked and unmarked cars arrived at Lonsdale Road, Penn Fields, at around 12.20pm.

Watch as a suspect is arrested:

They blocked a stretch near to where it meets Penn Road.

It began when binmen were said to have been threatened in nearby Howard Street, and police were called.

On their way, officers received reports that the suspects had been seen in Lonsdale Road, around a mile away.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Joanne Hunt said: "Officers have arrested two men in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

"No one was injured."

Student Yesh Patel, 21, who lives on the road, said; "I arrived home at about 2pm and saw about five armed officers. Then more arrived."

Danny Singh, who works at JLR woke up to fix his car before a night shift, and came out to see the police presence.

He said: "I had no idea what was happening. I've just come out to fix my car and that and saw all the police. You don't expect it."
