Man charged over Kidderminster knife probe

A man has been charged with three counts of carrying a blade in public after a major police operation in Kidderminster.

Daniel Bebb Jones, aged 23, has been kept in custody to appear in court after he was arrested in Kidderminster on Sunday.

Merton Close, where Jones lives, was closed on Monday evening following his arrest on Birmingham Road less than 24 hours earlier.

Bebb Jones was detained by West Mercia Police officers and the arrest was initially investigated by officers from West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit. However, following enquires there are not believed to be any links to terrorism.

Bebb Jones has been charged with three counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place and will appear before Redditch Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
