Wolverhampton women charged over £60,000 dementia patient fraud case

Two Wolverhampton women have been charged in connection with a dementia sufferer who was allegedly defrauded out of £60,000.

Former City of Wolverhampton Council employee Karen Corr, aged 54, of Sandy Lane, Bushbury and former Wolverhampton Homes employee Joanne Lewis, aged 50, of Victoria Road, Wednesfield, have been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by abuse of position.

West Midlands Police said the charges related to an elderly man suffering from dementia who allegedly had around £60,000 stolen from him over a two-year period.

Corr and Lewis will appear at Walsall and Aldridge Magistrates Court on July 5.
