Schoolboy attacked in Great Wyrley

A schoolboy was attacked and forced to the floor by a gang of yobs before an off-duty police officer intervened.

The incident happened around 4pm today in Station Road, Great Wyrley.

Fortunately the victim was unhurt.

PCSO Louise Jones said: "Around 4pm today some youths attempted to attack a schoolboy on his way home on Station Road in Great Wyrley.

"Some of the youths were known to him.

"They managed to get him to the floor before an off duty police officer intervened and the lad was brought to the police post in Cheslyn Hay.

"The lad was not injured."
