The three – aged 15, 19 and 21 – were arrested after an attack on a 19-year-old near Staveley Road, Whitmore Reans, last Thursday.

The victim is in a stable condition

The victim arrived at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital with serious head injuries at around 3am.

He is thought to either have taken himself to the hospital, or been brought in by a member of the public.

Sgt Neil Bason, from Wolverhampton's Violent Crime Team, said at the time: "We understand that the teenager was in Staveley Park with a group of friends when he was attacked by a group of people.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything to come forward.

"Officers are trawling CCTV in the area and the park is being searched."

Contact West Midlands Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

More than a dozen police officers scoured the grounds for evidence.

A park near the scene was cordoned off with police tape

The park is next to TLC College and Wolverhampton Central Mosque, near the A449, and is surrounded by Waterloo Road, Dunstall Road, Staveley Road and Francis Street.
