Warrant issued for Wolverhampton takeaway boss

Wolverhampton | News | Published:

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a city centre takeaway operator after he failed to attend court to answer food safety charges.

Wolverhampton magistrates issued a warrant without bail for the arrest of 39-year-old Mohammed Rafiq.

Rafiq was due to appear before the court yesterday charged with failing to ensure adequate procedures were in place to control pests at Express Diner in Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton.

Rafiq, of Deansfield Road in the city, is further accused of intentionally obstructing the authorities for carrying out their duties in regard to enforcing hygiene regulations.
