Pictured: Woman suspected of stealing Walsall lady's pension money

Walsall | News | Published:

This woman with a young child was being sought by police today after a woman's pension was stolen from a post office counter in Walsall.

The 84-year-old victim was at Beechdale's Post Office on Stephenson Square to withdraw her pension, but accidentally left her wallet and cash on the counter and left.

The suspect was with a child at the time

When she returned, it was gone, and CCTV showed a woman take it.

Pc John Giles said: "The victim in this case is elderly and clearly vulnerable; she obviously relies on her pension money.

"The suspect, who had with her a young child, gave no thought whatsoever as to who the money might belong to and what impact the theft may have had on the rightful owner.

"I would appeal for this woman to do the right thing and call me or on of the team. If anyone recognises the woman the please get in touch."

Call Bloxwich police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
