Masked robber steals cash outside Wolverhampton post office

A masked robber made off with cash after a raid at a post office in Wolverhampton.

Police were called to Lanesfield Post Office on Birmingham New Road, Woodcross, Wolverhampton at just after 10.30am.

A masked man threatened a cash delivery worker and made off on foot with several bags of coins. He got into a dark coloured vehicle parked some distance away and drove off.

Detectives have now launched an investigation into the incident and are urging witnesses to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The raid follows an attempted robbery in Essington near the city last week.
