Bill Fenton, aged 73, was found in Beakes Road, Smethwick, on November 23 at around 9.30pm.

He later died in hospital.

A team of officers from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit and Central Motorway Police Group returned to the scene on Saturday night.

They stopped drivers and people passing by to hand out leaflets appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Mr Fenton, who lived in nearby Astbury Avenue, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police believe he has been struck by a large vehicle and whoever was driving must have known they had hit a person but left him in the road to die.

Anybody with information is asked to contact the Regional Collision Investigation Unit on 0121 322 6098 or 0800 555 111.
