Founded and managed by husband-and-wife team Chris and Aster Sadler, Wildjac Distillery beat off more than 150 entries from 58 distilleries across the UK, with its 37.5 per cent rum being commended by judges for its fresh taste and sustainable, local ingredients.

Batch distilled using traditional methods and aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels, Wildjac’s Honey Spiced Rum is made from local Worcestershire honey and English coriander and makes up part of the distillery’s core range of premium botanical spirits.

Chris Sadler, co-founder of Wildjac Distillery said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have our Honey Spiced Rum recognised at this level within Wildjac’s first six months of business. Natural, locally foraged and ethically sourced ingredients are at the heart of our spirits and this award highlights the incredible flavours that can be enjoyed when you focus on what nature can provide.

“We were keen to include a honey spiced rum within our core range as it gave us the opportunity to use Worcestershire honey as an ingredient, which aligned with our ethos of supporting local. We’re incredibly proud of this achievement and we’re excited to build upon this success as our business moves forwards.”

Wildjac spirits are distilled on site and hand-bottled within 100 per cent post-consumer recycled glass bottles featuring recycled labels, FSC certified wood stoppers and biodegradable closures. Each bottle also comes with a book of wildflower Seedsticks to encourage people to affect change by supporting their local habitat.

Wildjac is also part of the 1% For The Planet programme which sees one per cent of all sales revenue given back to charities and organisations including the Wyre Forest Community Land Trust, Trees for Cities and the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
