Essentia’s Drinde is made from 100 per cent natural pork skin and adds texture, flavour and nutritional value to a wide range of meat products such as sausages, savoury bakery, hams and other cooked meats.

RSPCA Assured Certification means Drinde uses pork from farms that have been assessed to the RSPCA’s higher animal welfare standards which are designed to ensure pigs have everything they need for a better quality of life.

Tom Cooke, Essentia’s regional director UK & Ireland, said: “We care greatly that our pork is responsibly sourced. That’s why we’re very proud to add the RSPCA Assured label to our Drinde products.

This gives our customers total confidence that RSPCA Assured Drinde comes from pigs which have had the best quality of life.”

The RSPCA Assured label makes it easy to recognise products from animals that have had a better life, so consumers can feel confident and good about their choice when shopping and eating out.

Head of marketing for RSPCA Assured, Liam Kurzeja, said: “We are delighted that Essentia Protein Solutions have chosen to make their Essentia Drinde with pork from RSPCA Assured farms and wish them every success with the product line.”

Drinde is manufactured at Essentia’s UK operation at Ramsay Road, Tipton, which has recently been awarded the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety for the 25th consecutive year.

With over 40 years’ experience, Essentia Protein Solutions is the UK leader in the production of animal proteins for the food industry.

Essentia’s market leading product brands include Drinde, ScanPro, APro, OmniBroth, OmniCol and ProBase which encompasses stocks, broths and premium fats.

They have been developed to use in combination with or as an alternative to other ingredients and raw materials in a wide range of meat, savoury and nutrition applications.
