The PLG is part of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association and is concerned with matters relating to such products as stairlifts, home lifts and lifting platforms. The group meets three times a year to address items of importance to this industry segment and provides valuable input to the association across all of its key activities including technical standards, safety, education and training.

“I am deeply honoured to have been elected to this position by my peers and will endeavour to do my upmost to help support manufacturers, customers and suppliers during what are and will continue to be extremely challenging times for us all as a result of the coronavirus," said Lee Farrington

Mr Farrington has over 15 years’ experience in the lift industry covering stair lifts, through the floor lifts and step lifts during which time he has overseen the growth of Dolphin Lifts Midlands to its position as one of the UK’s leader suppliers and installers of access solutions.

In recent years, Lee has been chairman of the British Healthcare Trades Association’s stairlift and access section, during which time the section worked with members to ensure the industry was represented in the best way possible and this experience can only benefit the LEIA.

“We need to move with the times now more than ever. I am very passionate about our industry and ensuring everyone receives a first-class service and I hope to inject fresh ideas and a fresh approach to promoting the great work of the LEIA by building on the valuable work of my predecessors as we look to the future. One issue I believe needs urgent attention is the increase in the number of second hand stairlifts being installed by untrained engineers as the stairlift sector is unregulated and I believe we need act now before there is a fatality.

Established for over 30 years, Dolphin Lifts Midlands Ltd is an independent family run business. Over the past three decades, the company has built a reputation for providing its customers with high quality access solutions which are backed by superb levels of customer care and after sales support. The range of products available include stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, through the floor lifts and hoists all of which are manufactured by leading UK companies.
