Cameron Homes, based in headquarters opposite the closed station in Chasetown’s High Street, is investing a total of £750,000 in the project.

“We are completely refurbishing the police station, which has been empty for several years, so this is good news for the town,” said Matthew Carr, regional director of Cameron Homes, which is this year celebrating 25 years in business.

“Due to the expansion of the company into a wider operating area and increasing number of houses being built we are rapidly outgrowing our Chasetown base.

“A new ‘Cameron south’ office was opened this year in Stratford-upon-Avon and we have now created a ‘central region’ to cover Staffordshire and the West Midlands – to be based in the old station.

“It is an exciting time to be working for Cameron, with the central region expecting to deliver around £35 million of house sales annually.”

Mr Carr explained that the ground floor of the building would also include bespoke training facilities.

“Cameron was recently awarded ‘five-star’ builder status by the House Builders Federation and we have just won two National House Building Council site manager awards. We are very proud of these achievements.

“They are a reflection of our people and represent fantastic teamwork. It is important that we build on these successes as we move forward together.

“The training and development of our people is vital in order fulfil the company’s ambitious plans and these new training facilities will help to provide our teams with the skills they need.

“We are looking forward to seeing the building brought back to life and improved internally and externally and we will be moving in later this summer,” he said.

The company has taken on around 40 new staff in the last 12 months, now employing 130 people, and is launching a recruitment drive, with a range of roles on offer, including apprenticeships.
