The West Bromwich-based firm is supporting Black Country Women’s Aid, also based in the town, through its Bond Wolfe Charitable Trust.

Bond Wolfe charity manager Lisa Worrall said: “Currently, Black Country Women’s Aid receives over 24 calls an hour and their six refuges are almost always full.

“Last year they supported nearly 9,000 women with their children and helped men too through their modern day slavery support service.”

Sara Ward, executive director of Black Country Women’s Aid, said: “This donation will help women and children escape violence, overcome trauma and help to rebuild lives.

“It will help us provide training in schools to help the next generation understand what a good relationship looks like and what to do should they ever need help.”

In October, as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the charity is launching a “Go Purple” event, which people can support by wearing purple.

Deborah Slater, regional fundraiser for Black Country Women’s Aid, said: “Many thanks to the Bond Wolfe Charitable Trust for their kind donation of £2,500. This cash will support our ongoing efforts and help save more lives.”
