The Frenchman, who appears on the Channel 4 show First Dates and is now starring in the BBC business series Million Pound Menu, is renowned for his commitment to customer care and the importance of service to every business, not just the hospitality industry.

He joined Higgs & Sons staff at their Brierley Hill headquarters, where he delivered a master class in what constitutes good customer service. Illustrated with anecdotes from his career, his presentation focused around ‘Fred’s 10 golden rules’.

Paul Hunt, managing partner at Higgs & Sons, said Fred’s master class was extremely well received: “Fred Sirieix is the epitome of excellent customer care, a quality on which we pride ourselves here at Higgs as it is integral to all that we do.

“Putting our clients at the heart of everything is extremely important to us. Fred’s perspective from a completely different industry shows us that the principles of customer care are universal. We hope that Fred’s insight and experience will inspire all of us to maintain our reputation for first class standards.

“Good customer service is the lifeblood of any business and we are excited to apply Fred’s philosophy to our world in order to continue to enhance our clients’ experience with us.”

He will return to the Midlands to collaborate with Higgs on the firm’s Service Awards, a celebration of excellence where prizes will include the opportunity to dine at the Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows.

Fred is general manager of the Michelin Star restaurant at the London Hilton Park Lane, and recently published a book, Secret Service, lifting the lid on the restaurant world.
