Companies flock to estate after major refit
Established companies are quickly moving into seven refurbished units on a Black Country industrial estate, thanks to a focused marketing campaign by Bulleys and joint agents Harris Lamb.
The commercial property consultancy swung into action following the £600,000 refit of the units at Planetary Industrial Estate in Wednesfield.
A total of 43,410 sq ft of space was refurbished and now all seven units are either let or under offer.
Edward Jenkinson, assistant surveyor at Bulleys, said: “Within six months of the refurbishment, five units have been let and the remaining two are under offer.
“This is a great example of how carrying out a good refurbishment programme results in successful lettings to good quality inquiries.
“There is an ongoing shortage of high quality industrial stock in the Midlands, and a number of landlords have recognised the opportunity to overhaul existing, older properties to attract new tenants.”
New tenants on the Planetary Industrial Estate include Wulfrun Specialised Fasteners Ltd, a manufacturer of specialist bolting and CNC machined components for the oil and gas, pipeline and power generation sector, which has taken a 14,880 sq ft unit.
Fitlock Systems Ltd, a major stockist of bolting and riveting tools and systems, which has taken a 7,490 sq ft unit.
Maclellan Rubber Ltd, a polymer sheeting and rubber products specialist, which has expanded into a 5,620 sq ft unit in addition to the current space they have on the estate.
Planetary Industrial Estate is easily accessed from Wolverhampton, with direct routes to Junction 10 of the M6 and Junction 1 of the M54 motorways.
The £600,00 refurbishment project was carried out last autumn.
Edward Jenkinson, of Bulleys, said: “Following this success, the landlord at Planetary Industrial Estate is now about to refurbish a further unit of more than 8,600 sq ft with the view to achieving another swift letting.”
