Light rail conference in Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Council leader, Councillor Ian Brookfield, will be a keynote speaker at this year’s UK Light Rail Conference.

It is being hosted at Wolverhampton’s Grand Station on May 19 and 20.

Since 2006, the annual conference has brought together participants from across the UK and around the world to share knowledge, experience and best practice in shaping the future of cities through investment in sustainable transport solutions.

The conference will showcases case studies of projects, products, initiatives and new technologies from around the world.

There will also be an exhibition featuring some of Europe’s leading transport product and service providers.

Baroness Vere of Norbiton, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport,will be the keynote speaker and will outline the UK’s commitment to sustainable travel and investment in key infrastructure to prepare the country for the future.

Laura Shoaf, managing director of Transport for West Midlands will also be speaking.
