HomeServe is recruiting 85 customer service staff for its Walsall headquarters

It has started one of its largest-ever recruitment drives, with 85 customer service positions available at its Walsall headquarters as well as roles at its Nottingham, Leeds and Preston bases.

The home repairs company, which has its head office at Cable Drive, has been recognised for its commitment to a great working environment by Great Place to Work in its annual UK’s Best Workplaces list.

The business, which provides nationwide emergency cover for a range of home repairs services, was listed in 17th place in this year’s super large employer list, highlighting its ongoing commitment to creating a supportive working environment for its employees.

The list is determined by an in-depth evaluation which looks at an organisations’ employee experience and assesses employee feedback alongside organisational practices.

Karen Halford, people director at HomeServe UK, said: “At HomeServe, we work hard to encourage a supportive and engaged working environment, where everyone has an equal voice and the opportunity to be involved.

“It’s been an incredibly tough year for everyone, and many of our people have had to navigate working from home, whilst balancing a multitude of challenges as a result of the pandemic. That’s why this year we’re especially proud to be named as one of the UK’s best workplaces.

“Our people are at the heart of our business and they are empowered to help our customers, which is why we are committed to making sure they remain happy and feel valued. Fundamental to all we do are our People Promises, which set out a clear vision and the values that we all live by, and this is proven by how our teams have come together over the past year to support each other and our customers.”

HomeServe, which has 2,500 office-based staff and 800 engineers in the field around the country, has nearly two million UK customers and nearly eight million worldwide.
