Glow Bambino has now been named as one of the UK Small business Saturday's 100 businesses of 2020, thanks to its growing achievements.

Sara Hemmings, mum of four children aged 11 and under, founded Glow Bambino in 2016. Her aim was to offer something new to families and their children through sensory play.

Sessions use glowing sensory items, music, puppets and storytelling to enhance learning.

Sara said: "It grew and became very popular so I left my old job in social work to focus on building the business.

"Each session is designed to support & enhance little ones' early development and give parents ideas for sensory play at home.

"Our classes end with a cuppa and chat time facilitating support for new parents as they build a bond with not only their baby but other local parents too.

Covid-secure

"During lockdown in early 2020, we ran 18 weeks of free online live sessions for parents, we posted lots of videos with ideas for sensory play at home.

"When it was safe we offered outside sessions around Bewdley and Kidderminster and then back inside at Covid-secure socially distanced classes for our babies and mums.

"We also raised nearly £2,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital with our rainbow door cake bake.

"It was a huge honour and surprise to be chosen to be part of Small Business Saturday's initiative of this and although because of Covid-19 it meant most of the events were virtual, it was amazing to meet other small businesses and owners from across the UK. "

During the current lockdown Glow Bambino is continuing to offer free online support with more craft and sensory video ideas, story times and new parent support groups.
