The Central England Co-op store in Curborough Road has received a raft of improvements to give it a fresher, lighter feel and to include a number of new ranges and features to boost its offering to the local community.

It follows the store team working around the clock to ensure vulnerable people across the community have continued to have access to vital food and essentials through the coronavirus pandemic.

The refreshed store front includes brand new external signage to give it a more modern, fresher look.

Other changes include installation of a new, free, hot and cold water refill station, new internal signs and a refurbished kiosk.

Store manager Lindsey Kearney said: “The team are really excited about the changes and we have already had some great feedback from customers and members which has been great to hear. The store looks a lot bigger and brighter.

“It has really given the team a well-deserved boost after they have worked tirelessly over the last few months to support the community.

“I would like to thank our customers and members for their patience while the work has been taking place and hope they enjoy the changes as much as we do.”

The Lichfield-based retailer’s investment in its Curborough Road store comes as it continues work on a £3 million revamp of its flagship Boley Park site in the city.

The Curborough Road Community Food Store is open every day, Monday to Sunday, between 7am and 10pm.
