Hednesford Post Office opened on Monday at its new location in the High Street Convenience Store, off Market Street.

The previous operator resigned and the company had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer services to the community.

The new, fully refurbished premises are operated by an experienced postmaster. The branch has a dedicated area within the convenience store with one screened and one open-plan position.

The store is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm, and on Sundays between 9am and 2pm.

Sarah Cottrell, Post Office regional change manager, said: “We are confident that the new branch, in new fully refurbished premises, will continue to meet customer needs and deliver an excellent service, whilst securing the long-term viability of Post Office services in the local community.”
