The Friends of Hednesford Park have supported Hednesford In Partnership to provide an NHS treasure hunt for families in Hednesford shops.

Families can collect a card from sweet shop Candy Land which will have clues on it and go around the town looking in each window of the shops taking part.

It started on July 4 and will continue until Candy Land have run out of the 500 answer cards. Each child that takes part will receive free sweets, and they all go into a prize draw.

Robin Kingston, chairman of Hednesford In Partnership, said: "They start at Candy Land and pick up a form and they have to go around the town and there's posters in certain windows with clues and they have to work out the clues and take it back to Candy Land to get some sweets.

"It's free to enter and there are 500 cards.

"It's to get people back into the town and support the shops. The clues are all NHS related too."

The project was funded by Staffordshire County Council through The Friends of Hednesford Park.

This was a project to support the national celebration for the NHS's 72nd birthday and commemorate those who have died as a result of Covid-19 and where people have not been able to say goodbye to their loved ones in the way they would have liked.

There have also been community groups that have done their own tribute as well as supporting the banner project.
