Recent advice from the Government, stipulating that people should avoid large gatherings, has prompted the postponement of the annual awards, which are a highlight of the year for many companies in the Black Country, south Staffordshire and north Worcestershire.

The awards night was due to have taken place at Wolverhampton Racecourse on June 11 but, with the welfare of all involved of the utmost importance, it was decided that the sensible decision was to postpone the event until such time as it can be rearranged.

Editor Martin Wright said: “We regret having to make this decision, and I would particularly like to thank our sponsors for their continued support and patience. I would like to reassure business leaders across the region that we do plan to reschedule the awards when it is possible to do so.

“This is an unprecedented situation and we will of course keep everyone updated."

Judging was set to have begun shortly following the announcement of the finalists in each of the nine categories of the awards.

The announcement of all of the finalists will now also be put back.
