Safestore says new Black Country site performing well

Self storage group Safestore says its new site at Sun Street, Quarry Bank, which opened last year, is performing well.

For the three months to the end of January the group saw revenue rise 7.3 per cent to £39.9 million.

Safestore, founded in 1998, now has 157 sites, including 125 wholly owned stores in the UK.

The group provides storage to around 71,000 personal and business customers and employs 680 in the UK, Paris and Barcelona. It also has sites in Portway Road, Wednesbury, and Birchley Island, Oldbury.

Chief executive Frederic Vecchioli said: "Our recently opened developments in the UK in Birmingham Merry Hill and Peterborough are performing well and our London Carshalton store opened this week. In addition, we look forward to opening 85,000 sq ft of new space in Gateshead and Sheffield in the coming months."
