The Halesowen-based powerhouse, which has more than 150 years’ experience, celebrated after winning CBM’s first ever Company of The Year Award, after beating tough competition from Total to take home the biggest prize of the night.

Following on from a recent rebrand and successful marketing plan, Somers Forge – previously referred to as the Midlands best kept secret – showed excellency within the metal forming industry.

CBM president and competition judge Steve Morley said: “Somers have an incredible history and a stronger future, offering a complete forging solution.

“The company has invested over £2 million which has enabled new services to be launched, whilst continuing to reduce the energy and carbon emissions.”

CBM has more than 230 members.

The awards ceremony was held in Derby on September 27, and recognised the strongest businesses in the metalforming sector.
