Former Masterchef finalist moves shop to Blakenhall
A former Masterchef finalist has cut the ribbon on the new home for her cake shop in Wolverhampton.
Dennice McKinnon who was a MasterChef finalist in 2009 has opened the new shop which is now in Blakenhall.
Following her success on the show in 2009, Dennice launched the ‘Toffee Nosed Cake Company’ in Penn in 2013.
The shop was a hit with residents travelling from far and wide for novelty, wedding and other cakes that Dennice has to offer.
Dennice said: “I was thrilled with the launch of the Toffee Nosed Cake Company’s new home in Blakenhall over the weekend.
"It was great to celebrate the new venture with friends, family and loyal customers. We’d welcome you to come down and see what we have on offer."
Dennice has also supported charitable events locally since her success on Masterchef and has been a judge at Bilston’s Bake Off competition three years in a row, which has raised more than £1,000 for the Jo Cox Foundation.
The shop’s new home can be found at Unit 4, Park View Centre, 243 Dudley Road, Wolverhampton.
In attendance was Pat McFadden MP.
He said: “I was pleased to cut the ribbon on the shop’s new home in Blakenhall in my constituency.
"Personally, I’ve had one of my child’s birthday cakes made by Dennice and I can speak from experience about just how fabulous her cakes are! I’d recommend checking them out.”
