A team from Dudley Council will join partners from across the West Midlands at MIPIM 2019, the world’s leading property market, which brings together developers and investors from all sectors of the international property industry in Cannes, France.

Over the course of the four-day event, the council will be looking to forge new relationships with developers and investors to attract additional investment to boost the borough’s economic growth and develop key housing, retail, leisure and employment sites on land in the borough.

It will profile DY5 – Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone in and around the Waterfront in Brierley Hill – in a bid to secure development partners and equity investors to fund plans for new industrial, office, retail, residential and mixed used developments.

It will also outline existing and planned projects, which includes the £81 million Portersfield development in Dudley town centre, the £31m Institute of Technology on Castle Hill, Dudley, and the game changing £343m Midland Metro extension through the town centre to Brierley Hill.

Councillor Judy Foster, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said: "This is a serious opportunity to profile Dudley and position ourselves as the destination for businesses to invest and thrive.

"This could be a real game changer for Dudley. We will be networking with some of the biggest international developers, investors and influencers around the world.

We already have millions of pounds worth of investment committed to improving our transport infrastructure, growing our leisure and retail offer and establishing our borough as a world-class centre for innovation and advanced manufacturing.

"But this is our opportunity to profile what we can offer beyond our existing plans and seek out genuine investors, who want to support us in transforming Dudley’s economy.”

The council will be exhibiting within the Midlands UK Pavilion at MIPIM 2019 which will welcome more than 25,000 delegates from more than 100 countries.
