Labour MP Mr Umunna will be visiting the Express & Star's head office in Queen Street, Wolverhampton, on April 26.

Business Prospects in the Black Country - A Labour Perspective with Chuka Umunna is one of more than 100 events confirmed for the business showcase that runs from April 23 to May 4.

Places are already being snapped up for the busy programme of festival events.

The festival has been developed by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and has a key aim of putting the region in the national spotlight.

A total attendance of more than 7,000 people is expected across the fortnight at the events being put on by local businesses including trade shows, conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops

Nearly every event is completely free to attend, but tickets do need to be booked in advance. These are available on the Black Country Business Festival website on a first come, first served basis.

Corin Crane, chief executive of the Black Country Chamber said: “We now need everyone to get involved by taking a look at the website and registering to attend one, two or lots of events in the festival.”

The festival is partnered by DY5 – Dudley’s Business and Innovation Enterprise Zone – and is also supported by the following organisations: Cox & Plant, Federation of Small Businesses, Ramada Park Hall Hotel, University of Wolverhampton, Talbots Law, Wolverhampton Racecourse, Casino 36, Express & Star, Midlands in Business and Signal 107.
