100 new jobs up for grabs at Cargill in Wolverhampton

A recruitment drive to find 100 new staff has been launched at the Wolverhampton arm of multinational food group Cargill.

Its chicken processing plant at Balliol Business Park, Bilbrook, already employs 170 and an extra production line is now being installed.

The site, producing breaded and battered chicken products for a leading quick service food restaurant chain, opened in 1995.

The 13-acre site currently has the capacity to produce up to 19,000 tonnes of product a year.

Cargill, which is investing £35 million in the new production line which is due to be operational by the end of the summer, is seeking technical line operatives and office professionals who will receive full training.

The business is taking part in Wolverhampton City College's open event on Saturday from 10am to 2pm as part of the recruitment drive.

Cargill employs 155,000 worldwide with plants across the UK employing 3,500. It has been active in the UK since 1955.
