The acquisition of Overeem BV will strengthen the Hadley Group's global reach and support its growth in the automotive sectors.

It is aligned with the group's strategy to be positioned within the global economy while establishing local understanding with effective local supply chains, delivering jobs and growth within each of those communities.

Overeem, which was founded 85 years ago, has more than 60 employees and a turnover of £11.2 million.

It has built its reputation on the manufacture of complex specialist roll formed profiles primarily for Europe's automotive industry. It also operates in sectors including construction, lighting, furniture, interior engineering and air conditioning control.

Stewart Towe, chief executive of Hadley Group, said: "Overeem provides us with a vital link in our chain of cold roll forming manufacturing sites which stretch from here in the West Midlands to South East Asia.

"I am especially excited by the prospect of developing the Dutch company's product specialisation across our global platform. We will be combining our strong technical capabilities to achieve our growth plans for the Hadley Group as a whole."

Formed more than 50 years ago, Hadley Group is based in and around Smethwick and operates from five UK sites as well as its overseas facilities in Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.

Hadley Group is a privately owned, employs around 500 people worldwide and has a turnover of around £100m. The company has sought to be at the forefront of advancing the techniques and technologies of cold rollforming, employing 43 people within its in-house Group Technology Academy, the largest of its kind in the UK.

Within the Academy is a 10 strong research and technology team which trains and produces world class engineers, dedicated to developing cost-down solutions for clients, with a proactive, customer focussed approach which sees them constantly striving to find new innovations to improve customer's businesses.

A key determinant of Hadley's success is the internationally patented UltraSteelprocess that twice has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation first in 2006 and more recently in 2014.

The process has revolutionised the production of steel section components used both in the construction and agricultural industries throughout the world.
