Shocked shoppers in Bilston caught masked men on camera speeding off in a car after loading it with baggage from outside a pawn shop

West Midlands Police were called to reports of a theft from a shop in Bilston on Wednesday (August 6)

Shocked shoppers on Church Street, Bilston on Wednesday afternoon watched as masked men loaded parcels into a white BMW outside pawnbroking store Cash Shop.

The car had allegedly reversed at speed into the shop then two picked up valuables which had been on display. 

In the video, uploaded to Facebook, two masked men are seen loading the white BMW up with parcels, which then speeds off as one of the passengers is seen clinging onto the door as he finishes jumping into the back seat.

Though the video claims Cash Converters were the victims, it was in fact Cash Shop. 

A staff member for Cash Converters said: "It was not our shop, thankfully. We are fine but it was two doors down at Cash Shop."

Cash Shop, which offers cash for valuables, was back open on Thursday morning. 

A staff member told the Express & Star: "We are not giving any comment about what happened yesterday."

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a theft from a shop in Church Street, Bilston, at around 9am on Wednesday (6 August).

"Two people were seen grabbing products from a shop before walking away without paying."

The spokesman added: "Anyone who witnessed the incident can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101, quoting crime reference number 20/335585/25."
